Sintered Zirconia Corundum Brick
Sintered zirconium corundum brick (AZS brick for short) refers to a refractory brick with a ZrO₂ content of 33%-45% made from industrial alumina powder and selected zircon sand. The main raw materials are industrial alumina calcined into α-Al₂O₃, partially stabilized zirconium dioxide, and zirconium corundum clinker fine powder. The raw materials are mixed, high-pressure molded, dried, and then fired at 1700-1750℃ according to a certain ratio.

Description of Sintered Zirconium Corundum Fire Brick
Sintered zirconia-corundum refractory bricks are high-performance refractory materials made primarily from alumina (Al₂O₃) and zirconium oxide (ZrO₂) through a high-temperature sintering process. Although they share similar compositions with the fused cast zirconia-corundum bricks (electrominated bricks), they differ fundamentally in their production processes, microstructure, and applications.
Production Process: Finely ground raw materials are mixed, high-pressure molded, and fired at high temperature (approximately 1700-1750℃).
Microstructure: Relatively uniform structure, containing a small number of pores and internal microcracks.
Core Advantages: Excellent thermal shock resistance (resistance to rapid heating and cooling); not easily cracked due to drastic temperature changes.
Main Applications: Upper space of glass furnaces (not in direct contact with molten glass), regenerator partition walls, slide rails of metallurgical heating furnaces, etc.
Production Process: Raw materials are completely melted in an electric arc furnace, then poured into molds and cooled to form the final shape.
Microstructure: The structure is extremely dense, but shrinkage cavities are unavoidable (caused by volume shrinkage during casting).
Core Advantages: Dense structure, extremely strong resistance to molten glass erosion.
Main Applications: Critical parts of glass furnaces that directly contact high-temperature molten glass, such as the pool walls, flow channels, and furnace sills.

Application of Sintered Zirconium Corundum Brick
Glass industry
Sintered zirconium corundum fire brick is the preferred material for core parts such as the pool wall, flow hole, charging port, and bubbling area of glass melting furnace.
Metallurgical industry
Sintered zirconium corundum brick is used for slag line in ladle refining area, RH/OBS vacuum refining furnace immersion tube, heating furnace slide rail and other parts.
Chemical industry
Sintered zirconium corundum refractory brick can be used as the core lining of ethylene cracking furnace, coal gasification furnace, carbon black reaction furnace and other high-temperature and complex chemical corrosion environments.
Ceramic industry
Sintered zirconium corundum brick is used in the key high-temperature zone of ultra-high temperature tunnel kiln and shuttle kiln for firing advanced ceramics and refractory materials.
