Refractory ramming mix is a type of monolithic refractory material that is constructed through forceful ramming and acquires its strength only under high-temperature heating. It consists of refractory aggregates, powders, binders, and additives, and is mainly used in areas that come into direct contact with molten materials, such as the linings of various industrial furnaces and kilns.
Refractory ramming mass is made up of refractory aggregate and powder,binder and additive proportionally,using ramming method during construction.
1.Refractory aggregate:fire clay based,high alumina based,mullite-corundum based,silica based,magnesia based,carborundum based etc
2.Binder:phosphoric acid and phosphates, sodium silicate, aluminum sulfate,binding clay and organic binder etc.







Refractory ramming mix is used for the lining of smelting furnace etc thermal equipment such as ,blast furnace iron runner and slag runner,hot-blast cupola furnace,lining of blast furnace,molten steel ladle,electric arc furnace(EAF),matte smelting everberatory furnaces, lining of inductionfurnace, converter, steel refining furnace, rotary kiln etc.
Depending on the refractory raw materials and binders used, ramming mixes can be divided into several series to adapt to different working conditions.
Acidic ramming mix uses quartz as the main raw material and is used in acidic environments (such as some induction furnaces and boilers).
Alkaline ramming mix uses magnesia as the main raw material and is used for alkaline furnace linings (such as the bottom of electric arc furnaces for steelmaking and oxygen-enriched side-blown furnaces).
High-alumina/corundum ramming mix is used in areas requiring high corrosion resistance, such as glass kilns and blast furnace tapping troughs.
Zirconium/zirconium corundum ramming mixes are specifically designed for applications requiring resistance to molten glass corrosion, such as glass furnaces, and offer superior performance. For example, zircon sand ramming mixes can achieve a refractoriness of over 1790℃.
